Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights Loses Despite Out Hitting Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers By GameChanger Media Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights fell 13-7 to Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers on Monday despite out-hitting them 12 to 11. Abby McCaw led Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights with four hits. McCaw collected four hits in four at bats in the loss. McCaw doubled in the second inning, singled in the first inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the sixth inning. A single by McCaw following a 7-pitch at-bat put Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights on the board in the top of the first. Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers made the score 3-1 in the bottom of the first after Kami Davis singled, scoring one run, and Laney Westfall homered to right field, scoring two runs. Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights took the lead in the top of the second inning after Meghan Duffy singled down the right field line, Embree Boutelle singled, and McCaw doubled to right field, each scoring one run. Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers captured the lead, 7-4, in the bottom of the second when an error scored one run, Stacia Crabtree grounded out, scoring one run, and Rylie Moore singled, scoring two runs. Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers added one run in the third after Brynn Hannon singled down the left field line. Davis earned the win for Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers. The starter gave up 12 hits and seven runs (six earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking three. Kendyl McCammon took the loss for Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights. The starter went three innings, surrendering eight runs (three earned) on seven hits, striking out one and walking two. Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights collected 12 hits in the game. Corinne Zehring and Duffy each collected multiple hits for Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights. Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers accumulated 11 hits in the game. Hannon set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers with three hits in four at bats. Davis collected two hits for Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers in four at bats. Westfall led Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Hannon stole three bases.
